EYELASH EXTENSIONS AND TREATMENT

Semi-permanent lashes, also known as individual eyelash extensions, are eyelashes applied with an FDA approved adhesive with a stronger bond. Generally, a single lash is applied to each natural lash. When applied properly, neither the extension lash nor the glue should touch the eyelid. The bond is designed to last until the lashes naturally fall out, though the extensions may fall out faster if one uses oil-based eye makeup remover or rubs eyes regularly, as oil weakens the bond between the glue and the lash.

Eyelash extensions create eyelashes that remain on for approximately 2-4 weeks with their natural growth and shedding cycle. To keep the eyelashes full, one must maintain them within a 2 to 4 week timeframe. Eyelash extensions are waterproof and give the appearance of having mascara on without the messy clumps and smudging of makeup.

Eyelash extensions come in various lengths, colors and thicknesses, from natural-looking, to glamorous, as well as dramatic.

LASH FAQ

1.  How long do lash extensions last?
This is the most frequently asked question.each lash has a normal shedding cycle, normally 90 days. Each lash is replaced by a new lash. It is normal for you to you lose a few lashes everyday. You will notice this shedding more because you have extensions on your natural lashes. (You will even get shedding the day after you get your extensions). This shedding can be affected by weather, age, meds, and even the way you sleep. (Back sleeping is best).

 2. How are extensions applied?
Here at Serenity Suite Skin Care the lashes are applied one at a time strand by strand. The look is more natural, weightless, people think that they are yours. You will not get false looking lashes. These lashes are too heavy and too much glue is used on your natural lashes. It usually takes from 2 to 2.5 hours for extensions to be applied properly for a full set, and it depends on how many natural lashes that you have and the look that you want.

 3. How about fill-ins?

Fill ins are normally done every 2-3 weeks. Most people should come back with at least 50-70 % of their lash extensions on. Grown out, twisted lash extensions will be removed.

 4. Is everyone a candidate for lash extensions?
No, a person with sensitive eyes, allergic conditions, or eye conditions should not get lash extensions. With oily skin, you may find you have to come in more often for fill ins.

 5. Does the lash extension process hurt?
No, getting lash extensions is a very relaxing experience. It is best to have no talking during this time, while the technician applies your lashes. Any type of face movement prolongs the process. You will have your eyes closed, and soft white noise music will be played.
